Stunning!!

Living in Australia I was really concerned about buying this gown on line; what if it didn't fit, or looked nothing like the picture? I am so happy I took the leap after finding nothing I liked close to home and needing the dress very quickly. BHLDN staff were so helpful, making sure I chose the right size and giving me tips on how to alter the dress if needed. The option to return it was a key factor in going ahead with the purchase. The comprehensive images and videos that I found featuring the gown on the BHLDN site and Fb pages showed me just how the dress would look on various body shapes, not just the model.
My dress arrived 4 days, yes, just 4 days after ordering. It looked EXACTLY like the images on the website, from the detail, the way the dress falls, to the colour of the lace. I chose the size 2, being 168cm and 55kg with a reasonably small bust. I did need to take it in a little around the waist and loosen the bust slightly (it pushed my chest up too much, looking squished) but that was easily altered by my seamstress and ended up making my boobs look great ;). The length was perfect if I wore high heels. I went with flats so I needed to take the bottom layer up a little which was easy and didn't affect the look of the skirt at all.
The dress is stunning. I had it steamed to fluff out the lace layers before I wore it. I am still getting comments from guests at the wedding and people I don't even know (friends of friends) who have seen my photos on Facebook. It really is a talking point. It is fun, flirty but still sophisticated and romantic. The beaded bust did rub under my arms a little, but it isn't enough of an issue to mark the dress down at all. The silk waist did fold a bit too, but I think it suited the dress. If the boning was a little more solid, the issue would be resolved. I just had to pull it up every now and then when I was dancing towards the end of the night.
It is light and so comfortable, awesomely flattering and fit in perfectly with our summer garden wedding. I love it so much and wish I could wear it again!
I wanted to review this gown because it was ultimately the reviews from others that convinced me to purchase it. Thank you everyone who did, you helped me find the ultimate gown for my wedding!

amazing gorgeous elegant

this was my dress on my wedding day - when my husband saw me walking down the aisle, i saw him well up... maybe it was me, maybe it was the dress, but the dress itself allowed me to live my fantasy being the bride i was meant to be. I felt like myself, I felt like I was special and fashionable and cool. I made it more traditional by having a cathedral length veil, and then taking it out for the reception with a big giant flower in my hair. This was meant to be worn as a party dress, and it was a party dress. I loved wearing it, it was so comfy, and made my boobs look phenom if I dont mind saying :)

Beautiful and Unique Dress

I love this dress! I am so pleased with the quality and how stunning it is. It's much more beautiful in person! The lace tiers lay softer and flatter than pictured, and the sequins are more of a dark gold/bronze color than bright gold as pictured on the model. If you are smaller on top, be prepared to have it altered! I'm a 32B and the size 4 is a good 2-3 inches too big in the bust.
I do have two complaints - one being with the customer service. I got conflicting information from two different associates when I asked about returning to get another size, and very little apology for the inconvenience.
Also, the first dress I received came in a beautiful, durable, thick, vinyl-like bag. When I exchanged for a smaller size, it came in a flimsy cotton bag! If anything spills on the new bag, or if it rains, the dress is ruined! I'll definitely have to purchase my own gown bag if I want to protect this gorgeous gown...

Perfect dress

I wore this dress for my outdoor/ rustic chic wedding and the dress was perfect - it was so unique from anything I have ever seen. Honestly, this was not a dress I was interested in by looking on the website, but I was lucky enough to go to the Houston store and as soon as I tried it on, I played in it for four hours (thanks, Houston store, so much fun!). I am 5'4'' 115 lbs/ bra 34c and the size 2 fit well (although anytime I tipped the scales higher, the top got veery snug). I had a built in bra (just some heavy duty elastic and some very small cups) built in which helped the top from falling or sagging- you can see in the picture that the top isn't super flat, but the sagging wasn't bothersome or noticeable. I would actually say not to get the cups if you can help it - it weighed the top down more than I liked. When you get the dress mailed to you, it will be super flattened out and wimpy- make sure you have someone steam each layer of organza (back and front) and it will fluff out just right...then do not put it back in the bag that it came to you. The dress is light as a feather, was super comfortable all night long and moves just right. In hindsight, the dress is so lightweight that it may have needed a light slip underneath it - the Sun is a quiet but powerful teacher. Honestly, i couldn't be happier with this dress.

Bejeweled Dream!!

I happen to love everything about it. It is a totally dreamy dress. My sister is getting married soon and I would love to see her walk down the isle in something so elegant and glamorous. Sooooooo fab! Plus who couldn't love the jewels with all of that lace?!

needs major work if you're busty

like the other reviewers, i agree that the dress is very unique and beautiful. however, if you have a bust of any kind (i'm a 34C), get a size or two up because you need to either add structure with boning or get a great bra or both. the top does not hold up at all. i had no issues with the wrinkled material in the bodice that others have mentioned - the only issues are with the total lack of support. i am contemplating getting a size up, adding the boning and using the extra length to add halter straps for further support. my seamstress thinks this will work. i'll keep my fingers crossed.

Pleasant Surprise

This dress is so incredibly beautiful in person! I ordered it among others as a true after thought and I must say it blew me away! It made my decision much harder because it truly is a stunner. I would recommend this dress to anyone. I absolutely loved it. It makes me want to have 2 weddings so I can wear it! There are 2 downsides to this dress. 1 it is hard to tell how comfortable the sequins would be wearing all day. 2 Because the sequins is heavier than the fabric the top was rolling forward a tad exposing the fabric where you should see sequins. I do think that with alterations that could have been fixed, and it may have just been the way it fit me. It is absolutely worth trying on to see how it fits your body.

stunning gown, slumpy top.

im giving this dress 4 stars because of the other reviews. the dress is beautiful, but the top has no structure. it slumps and you need to pull it up every 30 seconds. i had my seamstress put boning in and it seemed to help, although not perfect still. its still beautiful and unique and i love it to pieces. im 34" 27" 38" and needed no alterations to my size 4 gown (other than the boning and to hem the length, its loooong).

amazing, yet needs alterations

This dress is absolutely gorgeous and unlike any other dress I've seen. It is definitely "the one", but it needs some help to be wearable. As one other reviewer previously noted, the bodice of the gown slumps down and becomes puckered below the breast area. This creates a wrinkled and somewhat unattractive look. However, I am hopeful that by simply adding stays to the front of the bodice, this problem may be eliminated. I plan on consulting with my seamstress, so if this is a successful solution, I'll re-post. Overall, this is a very unique and special gown.

Pretty!

This dress is very fun and unique, and like the others said, it is beautiful in person. Also, the gold sequins are not itchy, which I was worried about. I am 5'7", 130lbs, 33-27-38, and the size 4 fit very fell... However, the reason I am giving only 4 stars (and returning the dress), is because even though it fit well in the bodice, there was not much structure in the satiny part around the ribcage. Thus, it was wrinkly looking even though it fit very snugly. I don't think this could be corrected with altering (but maybe I am wrong!), and I kept wanting to pull the dress up to smooth out the wrinkles, even though it fit tightly. Even on the model it wrinkles/puckers a bit around the ribcage, as you can see in the picture. Otherwise it is a really pretty, fun dress!

Beautiful and unlike any other wedding dress!

This dress is fantastic. I loved the way it looked on the website, but thought there was no way it could be as nice in person. It is. So unique, interesting, and elegant. Lovely!

AMAZING and PERFECT!

I ordered this on a whim after stalking it daily on the BHLDN site, expecting it to be very "fluffy" and likely too tight on my bottom half. My measurements are 34/27/39 - terribly inconsistent for sizing purposes. I ordered a size 4 mostly because I was too impatient for the size 6 to come back in stock, and crossed my fingers...
I was overwhelmed at the beauty and richness of this dress when it arrived. It is incredibly elegant, yet has a casual, bohemian feel. The fabric is gorgeous and the fit....PERFECTION. I was worried about my hips fitting in the dress, but this is a true A-line, and was not snug at all around my hips. The bodice is quite fitted, and the sequins on the cups are actually matte (not shiny), contributing even more to the elegance of this gown! I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the tiers in the skirt lay much more flat than they appear in the photos. The dress is definitely too long (I am 5'7), but that's an simple fix.
I am thrilled that I so easily found the perfect dress without having to step foot in a bridal store (gag!). Highly recommend!

Starlet

This gown is absolutely unbelievable. The fabric is gorgeous and very substantial. The sizing is also great! I would say this dress runs tts, just a tiny bit big- but nothing some darts can't fix. Non- traditional yet classic; get this bohemian beauty while you still can!
