Beautiful wedding shoes, but a little big

I had had my eye on these for ages; my perfect wedding shoes. But at that price, I just couldn't justify it. I looked high and low, online and in store, for any shoes that I'd be happy to wear at my wedding, and did not find a single pair. Finally, these came on sale and I received a code for free shipping. It seemed to good to be true. It was. Being in Australia, I had to get sizing right the first time, as exchanges are entirely impractical. I talked to customer help and read all the reviews - everything said they ran small, so I ordered half up. Unfortunately, my regular size would have been a perfect fit. They were still beautiful on my wedding day, I got endless compliments, but I haven't been able to wear them again because the gap at the back of the heel is noticeable in a short dress. As others have said, there's a bit of toe cleavage, so stuffing the toe wouldn't really work.
Also, I wouldn't call them 'blue'. Thankfully, I wasn't after blue, and they don't appear blue on my screen, but as a lot of people have used them as 'something blue' I thought it was worth a mention. They currently sit on my shelf between a pale green teapot and a light blue book and are most definitely green.
Overall, I love the shoes, they were quite comfortable despite the sizing issues, and I am thrilled I got to wear them on my wedding day. I just wish I could wear them again.

Don't order up a size!

I thought I had found the ideal shoes for my wedding-- vintagey, well-made, comfortable, playful, and in the proverbial blue! I followed the advice on the BHLDN page for these pumps which said to order up a half size, though I did notice some other customers said the opposite. It turned out the the 7 was far too big-- I might even have been able to take a 6, despite my usual size being 6.5. Sadly, in just the past week BHLDN has sold out of both 6 and 6.5 and isn't restocking them. I'm so bummed! If you order, I recommend ordering true to size. Good luck! They're beautiful shoes.

Perfect

I splurged and bought these for my destination wedding to Boulder, CO in October. They are so beautiful and feminine. I loved the color so much I matched other details to them! I had so many compliments it was incredible. I followed the recommendation of others and got a size up and they were perfect. I wore them for our hometown celebration about a month later with a different dress, and they were on for a good 6 hours without my feet hurting. I love these shoes sooooo much!

They used to run small but now they run big

First off these shoes are lovely!
I ordred an 8.5 based on reviews that they run big (I'm usually btw an 8 and 8.5). But when I received them they were way too big.
I had been in contact with a Hey Lady rep right after I ordered from BHLD and she told me after addressing the too small complaint with the new factory the next shipment was made running a little big. So my suggestion is if you're in btw sizes - order the smaller size or order a half-size down. I'm crossing fingers the 8 will be perfect!

Beautiful!

These shoes were the perfect "something blue" for my wedding day! The height is perfect..not too much of a heel, but just enough to make you feel feminine. I got so many compliments on these shoes and people asking where I got them! They are true to the Tiffany blue color and I personally thought they were extremely comfortable for heels (obviously it's not going to feel like sneakers, but they did a great job with padding in them). I am so glad I got these :)

True to size!

I normally wear a size 7, and tried ordering these in a 7, 7.5 and 8! The 8 was way way way too big, so I don't know why the recommendation is that they run small. The 7 was the closest fit, and the shoes are as lovely in real life as on the site, but they were uncomfortable and I just can't see keeping an uncomfortable pair of shoes for this price.

Beautiful, but severely disappointed.

These shoes arrived beautifully packaged, and looking better in person than they did on the site. Really, these were the perfect shoe in terms of the aesthetics of our wedding.
I had ordered a 9.5, a half size up, as mentioned by other reviews, yet this still wasn't enough. On top of being too small, the toe is quite narrow. Having them stretched locally didn't seem to be an option if I wanted to retain the same look. Frustrated but not defeated, I ordered another half size up, thinking that a 10 would ultimately solve the length and width issues.
When the new pair arrived, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Still beautiful in appearance, but the half size increase actually resulted in the shoe having an inch and three-quarters gap at the heel if I placed my foot all the way to the front.
Now a month out from my wedding, I am scrambling for shoes.
I will say, however, in terms of customer service BHLDN really was quite top notch. Once we addressed the issue of shipping (to bring from the States to Canada and then back again, twice, it was quite expensive), the representative was understanding and non-combatative, issuing a full refund for the shipping charges incurred.
Really pleased for those who have had luck with these shoes, but there is definitely a quality control issue that needs to be worked out here.

Stunning Wedding Shoes

I just received these shoes in 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I had originally ordered a size 8 (per the recommendation- I normally wear a 7/7.5) and they were far too big. These shoes are well-made and are the statement piece I was hoping for. They will look perfect with my 1950's style ankle-length wedding dress...and with many more outfits after!

These shoes are amazing!

The color, construction and comfort are great. I am usually a 6, but I ordered a half size up as recommended. They were huge! Unlike others I feel these run tts for me. Also note that the bottoms of the 6.5s are marked European size 37. I agree with the other reviewer who said to purchase two sizes to compare.

Great shoe but narrow and runs small

I bought these shoes for my upcoming wedding and was SO excited when they arrived! The color and style are adorable. However, they were way too small. I am usually a 9 or 9.5 and ordered the 9.5. I could barely put them on. I would recommend ordering a full size up. I am hoping a larger size will come into stock soon so I can have them for my May wedding!!

I've been visiting these shoes weekly...

and finally sprung for them. So glad I did! The color, shape, detailing, and heel height are fantastic. I was worried that they would be too much (of what, I'm not sure) with my (short) dress, but they look fantastic. I ordered my normal size; they're snug but not too tight.

SYNTHETIC UPPER!, poor craftsmanship, imported from China

I was so excited to receive these shoes in the mail today. They are as beautiful as they are pictured. However, I was quickly disappointed (and angered) upon further inspection.
Here's what I dislike about the shoe:
1. Synthetic upper.
Only the soles and lining are leather. This is especially frustrating since BHLDN advertises that they are leather upper in the description. Definitely feels like man made upper to me!
2. Poor craftsmanship.
My shoe was defective in 2 areas: (1) the heel tip was glued/nailed on crookedly. This is not only dangerous, but unacceptable for shoes in this price range. (2) the insole was wrinkled in the toe box...another no no for shoes this price. On top of that, there were strings fraying/loose in a few different areas. The sole was scuffed up and worn-looking...judging by the box it had been returned 3 times before I received it. Yet, they still are hoping someone will settle for it...
3. Made in China.
Imported is generally is a good thing. But not if it's imported from China, like this shoe (another misleading statement in the description). Most of the other shoes in this price range on this site are HANDMADE in Italy. This shoe is likely factory made (based on the quality).
Here's what I like about the shoe:
1. The color is wonderful. Perfect for what I had imagined on my wedding day.
2. The style is timeless. Styled after Audrey Hepburn, they are retro but in a very modern way.
3. Very comfortable and stable.
Sizing: I am a 7.5 in most heels, 8 in flats. I ordered an 8 because of the reviews, but BHLDN sent me the wrong size...a 7.5, which fit a little snug in the toebox, but would likely stretch to fit perfectly.
Verdict: Super cute synthetic upper from China is not worth $340. Not in my book. Maybe if BHLDN had not sent a defective shoe in the wrong size, I would have thought a little longer before returning. Unfortunately, they did not. So I returned these in a heartbeat.

Hi Trinity - thank you for your feedback - after reading your review we reached out to the designer for further details. The upper is absolutely leather and not synthetic (an incorrect sticker was used for some of the shoes). While the designer does have them produced in China they are fully handmade. And we have done a quality check for the heel, as they should not be uneven. If you have any further questions please reach out to style@bhldn.com.

Love these shoes

Long coveted these shoes so when it was time to plan my wedding outfit, they were going to be "in" for sure. It was a big commitment, I've never spent this much for a pair of shoes.
COLOUR: They are better described as seafoam green, in my opinion than robin's egg blue or even tiffany blue. But closer to tiffany blue than robin's egg blue.
SIZE: I normally wear a size 7 1/2 so I ordered an 8. The 8 is a touch big on me, not sure if a 7 1/2 would have been too small, though, and I don't have time to change it. Will get an insole. They indeed have wonderful structure, very comfortable and super beautiful.
I had considered ordering 2 sizes and returning the size that didn't fit - but since I'm ordering from Canada the extra shipping and duty charges dissuaded me from that.
FOR CANADIANS: I paid $50 at the post office when I picked them up.

great color

these are so very cute - the color is vibrent and fun. i paired them with a little black dress for a pop of color and it was a perfect matchup!for me they ran small i usually wear a 6.5 or 7 and for this heel i had to get a 7.5! stiff leather but padded so comfortable for all day wear. also, i think they will loosen up a bit over time.

Lovely shoes

I normally wear a size six shoe. As recommended by other reviewers and the product page I ordered a 6 1/2 and found the shoes to be slightly too big. They are however beautifully constructed and look gorgeous on. Just be sure to order in enough time to try multiple sizes if need be.

Beautiful Shoes!

I have always worn a 7.5, and have never worn anything larger than that. After reading many reviews on Hey Lady shoes, I went ahead and ordered this shoe in a size 8 and 8.5. Both sizes fit my foot very closely but I ended up keeping the size 8 because it fit my foot all the way around perfectly, like a glove!
These shoes are very very comfortable--just spend a couple hours breaking them in. I guess I must have narrow feet because I have never had a shoe fit me this perfectly! Don't order the size you normally wear--it will be tight. Do order a half size and full size up maybe even a full size and 1 1/2 size up if you have larger than average feet. It was nice for me to be able to do a side by side comparison of the two sizes I ordered, and both sizes fit me well enough --just one fit a smidgen better! Also, by ordering more than one shoe, you can send the one(s) that don't fit back with the prepaid shipping and save on having to pay for shipping more than once.

Initially snug, but don't worry!

Now I'm a gal with boat-sized feet, so with an average shoe size of 9 1/2, 10 was as large as I could go. I was a little worried at first putting the shoes on, noticing they were extremely snug, especially in the toe-box. But I'm quite relieved to relay that, with just an hours wear, I could tell a difference in the way they fit. I'll be practicing weekly with these babies to break them in some more before my October wedding rolls around. They are just to die for!

gorgeous but snug

I am so excited to wear these shoes with my wedding dress! They are beyond gorgeous. I ordered a half size up like the prior review recommended and they are still snug around the toes. I am going to exchange them for a whole size up to see if that helps solve the problem. Even if they are snug, these will be my something blue for sure!

Beautiful shoe, snug fit

I read the previous reviews and took their recommendation to order half a size up. The length of the shoe fits perfectly, but they are very narrow. The color is beautiful, the height is perfect, but they are very snug in the toes!

Beautiful but fit is off

These shoes are even more stunning in real life than in the photo. I ordered half a size up, as recommended, and they were still very small. So I ordered another half size up, and they were *still* too small - the white scalloped edges cut into the top of my foot before I'd even taken a step. It's a shame, because the footbed felt incredibly comfortable, thanks to the foam cushion - it really hugs the bottom of your foot. One more detail: all the other shoes on this web site are made in Spain or Italy, from what I've seen, while these are made in China; their price seems a bit much for being made in China. In short, if you can find the proper size, they will probably be very comfortable, and gorgeous as well.
