My Dream Dress!

An amazing dress. I can not believe how inexpensive the dress is for the quality and detailed work. I think this dress could be used for any type of wedding and can be dressed up with accessories. It was slightly tight in the rib cage as the other reviewers mentioned. I had an amazing seamstress let it out in that area, but everywhere else it fit perfect! Grab this dress quick!

The first dress was the one.

Fell in love with this gown when I first saw the pictures of it on the site. Was a little disappointed that I had to purchase it outright just to try it on, but luckily the first time was the charm. The size chart was helpful - I normally wear a size 4, but went with a 6 on this, which was perfect. I went to two other bridal shops to try dresses (timed with the return window for BHLDN), but nothing seemed right compared to this. Our wedding was outdoors, in a very undeveloped desert location, so I wanted something that wouldn't snag easily if caught on cactus or chaparral plants -- the material was perfect for this. Also, to be a little crass, I loved that I could get away with not wearing a bra AND wearing my most comfy granny panties on my wedding day (score two for all-day comfort!). I did have to have the gown tailored, since I loathe heels, and am not super tall, but my guy did an expert job, and in the end the dress fit like a glove. Tailoring was done for about $275, so overall I feel like I made out like an absolute bandit with this dress.

Simple and Stunning

We are organic farmers, and got married on the farm where we lived and worked in Northern California in the middle of October. This dress was PERFECT. I was so comfortable, the silk/linen fabric blend is amazingly beautiful and breathable (even though it was fall, it was in the 90's during our afternoon ceremony). The delicate detail of the eyelit motif lended a sweet and classic touch to the simple, yet elegant cut of the gown. I totally loved this dress.
I am 5'5", and weighed about 110, and (as I was breastfeeding) a full 34C. I purchased a size 6, which with alterations was just right. I was relieved, like others, that the dress was hemmable from the waist, because I certainly didn't want to loose the scalloped bottom hem, perhaps the best part of the dress!

Perfection.

I am 5'10, 150 and this dress was the perfect length. I just wore flat, strappy sandals. I had it brought in on the waist and hips because I wanted a little slimmer look. The seamstress did an amazing job with just a simple cut up the side seams. I had an outdoor wedding on the lake so it fit the theme of our event.

Too casual for me

This dress was too casual for me and I went with another dress. It would be perfect for a beach wedding, though! We had an outdoor vintage type wedding and I didn't think this dress would fit the bill. Its deep cream color added to its casual feel. I am 5'5", 125 lbs, 32B, 34-27-38 and the 4 was way to small around my chest and rib cage. It was also way too long (with 2.5 in heels) and, as others have said, would need some very complicated hemming. The top portion was not flattering to my chest. This dress did not look good on me, but I've seen pics of it looking great on others! Best for tall slender women or those with a lot of money and time to get it to fit the way they want.

I said YES to the dress

Although the only size available at the time was about 6 sizes over my size, and I didn't want to risk not having the dress in time for the wedding, I still knew it was the one. You can always go smaller, but you can't go larger. My seamstress was able to mold it to my size and even added lace trim on the bottom since the length of the dress wasn't quite as long as I hoped (I'm 6'0") and "permanently" tied the bow. (See image of the back of dress). The lace trim she found closely matched the pattern/color of the dress. My mother's flowers from her wedding dress was also stitched on parts of my dress. I knew I wanted a more casual, yet still elegant dress and this was definitely it! Photos courtesy: Leah McCormick

Eyelet Medley Sheath for Beach Wedding

I immediately loved this dress online when I was considering an outdoor barn wedding. All the dresses I tried on in wedding dress shops seemed the same - white fluffy and NOT me. I kept comparing each dress to this one and they all fell short.
When we changed to doing a destination wedding on the beach in Mexico - I thought it may not work...but still loved it so ordered it. I got a size 6 and it fit almost perfect. I am 5'8" and 130, but have a pretty small bust. I just had to take in the straps a bit and tack the dress where it crisscrosses in the front, and it was perfect.
I had a freak out moment a few months before the wedding - worrying that this dress would look too casual. However, I am very very happy I stuck with it. It looked amazing, made me feel pretty, and worked perfect for a beach wedding (comfortable, could walk in it, etc.). I definitely recommend this dress to anyone who wants something a little different than the norm, but with a classic, elegant, and comfortable look. Hoefully the pics help make your decision.

Perfect beach dress

I just received my dress here in England. The customs on it was pretty huge- one third of the purchase price. We need a BHLDN in the U.K!
When I saw this dress I knew it was the one. The eyelet pattern is feminine and the linen and silk a good quality. The clean ivory Colour is gorgeous. I am 5ft7", 58kg, 34/27/38 measurements. I ended up ordering the the size 6 to compensate for my hips. It looks as though I will need to actually have the dress taken in around the waist area! The rib cage is very tight so I'm glad I got the size up. Length is perfect for a 1 inch heel for my height. I will wear a small heel for the ceremony and maybe change to sandals for the reception- still considering whether I want to go through the hassle and expense of taking the dress up.
Awesome beach wedding dress. And could even be shortened or adjusted to wear again! I also ordered some jewellery online. Highly recommend ordering from BHLDN.

Expensive hemming made me wish for a petite....

Like most of the previous reviews, I, too had issues with the dress being too small around the rib cage. I typically wear a size 2 in a dress (I ordered a 4 to be safe) and then wound up with a size 6 in this beauty. The result was a top whose straps needed taken in, and a beautiful eyelet, scallop hem that needed to be taken in from the waist (about 6 inches) so as to not lose the gorgeous detail at the hem. By bringing the fabric from the hips up so high to shorten the bottom, that too needed to be taken in around the sides. The seamstress I used makes gowns from scratch, and made mine look like a dream, but the alterations cost half of what the total price of the dress cost me! So instead of wearing/buying the size 4 that fit everywhere but the 2 inches where it needed to zip by the rib cage, I needed to order up and spend a fortune on alterations. It seems as though a petite/short option may be in order given the reviews?
All that being said, I love the dress. I actually sold my first dress after I saw this one. I just fell in love. The weight, color and details are perfect for my beach wedding. It is romantic, yet simple and not "poufy." The packaging and return process are also to be noted - both are exceptional.

Stunning

This is my second review... I wanted to share the picture from my wedding to show one way thisdress can be worn. It is tight in the ribs so I did have to keep that in mind when order. I am 5'4 130lbs. 33 inch bust 26in waist 34 hips. No alterations were done! LOVE THIS DRESS SOOOO MUCH.

lovely!

I am planning to wear this dress for my June afternoon country wedding and I am so excited! It's absolutely lovely and perfect for the occasion. The fabric is really special and the back is stunning. I'm having a few changes made--trading out the double layer silk lining for a single layer of cotton, lifting the straps, and simplifying the bust detail. I would say that it runs a little small, especially through the ribcage, as other reviewers have also suggested. I almost always take a 4 in this type of style but took the 6 in this dress. The friendly and knowledgeable stylist help me pick the right size. For reference, I am 5' 61/2", probably a little under 130lbs, and smaller on top, 34-27.5-38. I'm a small B cup and my seamstress is adding a little bust pad to give me a a bit of lift and some help filling out the top (so I won't need to wear a bra.) Although classic, this dress is actually quite unusual. I've looked many places and this is one of the few wedding dresses I've seen that seemed right for a real country wedding.

LOVE this dress!

I purchased this dress for my beach wedding in Maui. It was the perfect dress! The photos do not do it justice. The material is much more beautiful in person than the photos show. The material is a rich, high quality linen (and silk, I think) material. The ivory color is gorgeous! It’s very flattering. It runs very small in the chest area. I am curvy, yet smaller on top (5’8”, 155lbs., and a 36B). I usually wear a size 8 dress. But, I had to go up to a 10 and the chest area was still too tight to breath. But, it fit perfect everywhere else. So, I had taken out, which made the difference. I raised the straps a bit, too. The length was just right. I was able to wear 2 inch heels and the dress just fit the floor. I couldn’t have been happier!

so wish this dress could be mine!

i fell in love with this dress, but sadly had to return it. i am getting married on the beach and this was my dream dress. the fabric feels so good and the eyelet lace is beautiful! and i love the back of the dress. i am definitely a curvy all over girl, and i really needed the bust area on this dress to be bigger. the straps can easily be shortened to create a more supportive fit for busty girls, but i needed the cup size itself to be larger. it also ran small compared to the other BHLDN dress i tried on. everything else fit me in an 8 or a 10, but in this one i had to try on a 12. i am 5'8", 160 lbs., and a 36 DD. very sad to let this one go, and it will always be "the one" for me in my heart.

The Best last minute change up of my life!

This dress is everything I had been dreaming of. The photos online do not do it enough justice. When i went to order my wedding dress, I had a differen't BHLDN one in mind. My gut instict told me last minute to switch and order this one.... WOW. I am 5'4 125lbs 34D and this dress fit perfect. No alterations needed. It is VERY slim through the ribcage which is why I ordered it. My ribs are very narrow and I am wider through the hips.

Love it!

Love this dress! It was the first one I tried on and I love it, so flattering. I am 5'2" 115lbs, bra size 34C and a size 2 fit me perfectly. I usually wear dress size 0 but the 0 was really tight in the bust on me. Hope that helps!

Almost Perfect

I fell in love with this dress the moment I put it on. However, it did require significant alterations in order to fit my not-so-perfect body (5'3" 125 lbs, 34B bust). I first purchased the size 4 and found that it fit perfectly in length put was too tight around my rib cage. I went up to a size 6 which fit nicely around my rib cage but was much too long and a little big on top. Shortening the dress was quite a task as the entire skirt had to be removed and shortened from the waist to avoid compromising the scalloped detailed bottom (shortened by 6" - I wore flats). I also had to have the side seams of this skirt taken in, which could have potentially altered the symmetry of the scallops but my seamstress was able to avoid that. My dress fit well after the alterations and I wore it comfortably all day and night. Overall I'm very happy with my decision despite the added stress of significant alterations. If you plan on purchasing this dress, I recommend finding a darn good seamstress!

Absolute perfection

All other dresses, similar in style, pale in comparision to this dress. I followed the sizing recommendations of another reviewer, and bought an 8. It fits like it was made just for me. (I'm 5'10, 145 lbs, small chest, bigger rib cage.) The side zipper is a little hard to zip past the sash (could be because of my ribs), and I'm afraid I'm either going to rip the dress or pinch my skin. That is the only slightly negative thing I could say about this dress. It's romantic and simple, yet really detailed. I feel amazing in it, and that's exactly what you should feel like when wearing your wedding dress. It is long, like shown on the model, and the bottom pools a little. If you are wearing really high heels, it will be fine. I love that it is long, as I didn't want it to be that awkward long, but too short length. The back is my favorite. The straps are so dainty, and the bow is sweet without looking youngish. Overall, I was in love with this dress on the screen, and even more so now that I own it. It will be perfect for our outdoor wedding in October.

LOVE this wedding gown!

I will be wearing this dress for my wedding this summer outside in Vermont! I love it.. the material is light and feels wonderful on the skin. The only thing I will say that I did all my measurements according to the sizing chart and ended up having to return the original size and get the next size up due to my ribcage. I'm 5'10" & about 140 lbs and size 8 fits great, no alterations. I highly recommend this dress!!!

Amazingly Perfect

I am 5"8", 120lbs with a very small bust and waist. I ordered a size 0 and it fits like a glove everywhere except the waist which will need to be taken in an inch or two. I absolutely love everything about this dress. The antique Ivory color is perfect, and the scalloped eyelet linen is incredibly gorgeous in person! The length is also perfect. We will have a lot of live music at our wedding and I feel like I can dance the night away in this dress. I love it!!
