Fits as Expected (Maybe Slightly Larger Than Fit Chart) - Would Be Short on Tall Women in Heels
I purchased this dress in green, I assume the sizing is the same for the buttercream. I was hesitant to purchase this dress at first because of the extremely polarized comments about its sizing. I normally wear a size 2 in dresses and thought I might have to purchase a 6 or 8 based on what I read. But, I decided to go with the 2 and it's perfect. The size 2 is Bust: 33.5", Waist: 27", Hips: 38". I'm 5'1.5" and with 3" heels the dress just sweeps the ground. I already knew I would have to take the length up a bit b/c I'm so short. Otherwise, it fits like a glove. Happy shopping.

Simply Stunning and So Comfortable
My birthday was February 9th and I tried on many dresses at the downtown Chicago BHLDN, and this was the dress I chose! I cannot tell you how happy I am and how much I love this dress. I'm having a beach wedding, so I wanted something comfortable and lightweight and something that was unique to my personality. This has all of those qualities and more. The most comfortable dress I've ever put on! It fits and hugs all the right things and is modern yet vintage and so romantic. The quality of this gown is spectacular. I can't wait to receive it in a couple weeks!

I found the one!
I was in search of a romantic, flowy, "va-va-voom" gown. This wedding dress fit all of those expectations and more! I was pleasantly surprised when I received it in the mail. I am 5' 8" around 132 pounds, 36 B in the chest and wear a size 28 pants. I ordered the size 6, but am now exchanging for the size 8. It fits very nicely and hugs my body in all the right places! I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a unique dress! So excited!

found the one. and the dress.
Size fits true to size, size 6 was a perfect fit for me, but will have to take the 'small of the back' in a bit. The dress fits great in the chest (36b) and hips/waist (wear size 28 jeans). I love the lightweight material, it's beautiful and will be perfect for our end of summer wedding. I think the dress is conservative enough for our church wedding but is just as flirty and fun for our outdoor reception at my parents house. I am always looking for something different in my clothing and jewelry style and this dress fits the bill. This dress is timeless enough to wear and look back in 20 years and be happy I picked it without regretting something overdone and too trendy. I will look back and be happy that I chose a dress that fits my style. It's beautiful and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to wear this dress on our wedding day.

Beautiful gown with both modern and vintage feel
I had been fairly indifferent about a wedding dress until this one arrived. It is simply gorgeous. The layers of silk are lighter than they look and comfortable for dancing. The soft ruffles were very feminine and gave a vintage look, while the asymmetrical top added a modern twist. The bottom half flows so elegantly when you move, something that's hard to capture in the pictures. Also, I think the ivory color would be flattering on many skin tones.
I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs and fairly curvy (36" x 26" x 36") and ordered a size 4. With a 4" heel I needed no alterations.
I simply love this dress and received many, many compliments on it. My one minor complaint has already been mentioned: the top outer snap on the back comes undone rather easily, especially with all the hugging and dancing (something that's hard to realize when just trying it on in your bedroom). I agree with the recommendation to get that reinforced.

Perfect Dress for Elegant Outdoor Wedding
As a first time bride at the age of 51 I had grest difficulty finding a dress that was elegant and not too "fluffy". After months of searching I saw an ad in a bridal magazine for BHLDN while having my oil changed at Jiffy Lube.
I ordered this dress and was very impressed with the unique style, quality of material and the perfect fit. I am a size 6 and did not need to alter the dress at all.
On the day of my wedding, the dress felt like a soft cloud and even after 6 hours looked the same as when I first put it on. And this was after photos in a vintage cadillac, in a vineyard and on a hilltop which we climbed.
I highly recommend this dress and BHLDN for their unique styles, quality and overall service.

Simply perfect
I had originally purchased a traditional bridal gown for an indoor March 2013 wedding. Well, we changed our ceremony to outdoors in a park this September and the first dress (replete with train) wasn't going to cut it. Based on reviews I ordered this dress and it is PERFECT-light, comfortable, figure flattering, different. When I show someone a picture of it, they say, "Now THAT is a dress!" not "Oh, you look so pretty" like they did with the first one. When my fiance saw me in it, the smile on his face was SO big and all he could say was "WOW". Plus, no alterations required!

LOVED THIS DRESS
This dress could not have been more perfect for me. After trying it on I literally needed ZERO alterations. It fit like a glove, and was so incresibly flattering. I got so many compliments on this dress. I think because it is classy, sexy, elegant, unique yet simple it is sort of the whole package. I do wish it had a slightly longer train, but I have never felt more beautiful then when I wore this dress. I would highly recommend it! Furthermore it is SO comfortable! I didn't want to take it off! I ama big fan of dancing and it made that so easy at our reception :)

Loved this dress sooooooooo much!
This dress is light weight and beautiful. I got so many compliments on how unique it was. Everyone thought that i had it custom made. It was comfortable all day and all night. I didn't want to take it off. I would highly recommend this dress!

Tons of compliments!!!
I bought a size 4 and it is true to fit. I am 5'5 and 127 lbs. I didn't have to alter or hem this dress in any way. I received numerous comments that this was the most unique and beautiful wedding dress people had ever seen. Highly recommend this dress!!

Fell in love with this dress instantly and all other dresses were ruined for me! My measurements are bust 36, waist 28, hips 41. I ordered the size to fit my hips and had to bring in the bust a fair amount, but it now fits perfectly and am so pleased with it. Can't wait to dance the night away in it. The material is light, flowing and luxurious - I feel gorgeous in it.

I was a bit worried about buying this dress for my wedding, not because it isn't beautiful but because I live in Sydney Australia and it's a long way to ship if it didn't fit although I am so glad that after weeks of staring at it I bought the dress and it arrived a few days later.
I am small in the bust and larger on the hips so I went with a size that fit the waist. I knew it would be a whole size to large on the bust and did have to do some altering to make it fit correctly. After the alterations to the bust I still wore a bra to add shape. It fit like a glove. And I danced all night in it.Other than this minor adjustment the dress was beautiful. So many comments on the wedding night. I loved that it was light weight and wasn't your standard wedding attire.
I would recommend this dress to any bride.

SO lovely!!
Between this and the Avante Garde dress, I am having a great deal of trouble figuring out which dress to pick.
I feel my body type is very hard to dress, I am short, have a long torso, broad shoulders, small chest (32B) and very little waist definition. I need all the help I can get not to look like a 13 year old boy!
I was really excited to try this on, but was skeptical with all of the reviews about it feeling poorly constructed, especially with the zipper. But, I didn't noticed either of those issues. In fact, it felt really well designed.
Man, this dress fit like a glove. It hugged every little curve I have and made me look like I was actually a full grown adult female! While it is form fitting, its not tight, it won't show lumps and bumps with all of the clever biases and small ruffles.
It really is a flattering, feminine, fun dress, I can see this working with so many body types.

If you are looking for unique, this one's a show stopper. It's even more beautiful in person. It's helpful to check out the photo album of "real brides" on BHLDN's Facebook page before purchasing.
Two annoying things about this dress:
1. Some of the snaps on the back don't stay closed and will have to be replaced.
2. It's pretty see through. You definitely need a good slip – especially for an outdoor wedding.

I'm just under 120 lbs, 5'5" height, 34B chest, and I have a booty. I bought the 4 and it fit perfectly. No alterations needed except for those darn snaps.
I'm still rating it a 5 because it is simply stunning.

This dress made my day
I am 5'3-3/4" with a 36C chest, 122lbs. I purchased this dress in size 4 and it fit so beautifully, I did not have to waste money to get it altered. The chest was a little tight at first fitting, but then I just pushed those puppies around and it fit beautifully! My husband and I decided to elope to Boston in August, where it was quite humid. The dress is so light weight and fabulous, I don't think I could have found a more perfect dress.

beautiful, but was not right for my shape
I loved this gown. Great color, great fabric and good movement. Not to mention a great price. As some of the other reviews stated, the fit is not right for some body types and would have taken some altering to make it fit me. The bust/chest/back area is quite small. I am typically a sise 4 in dresses and I ordered a 6, which was still too small in the back for me. I do have an athletic build, but either way, you will probably want to get the back portion reinforced since the snap closure is not too secure. Otherwise, this is a beautiful and well made gown that is definitely worth the price

This gown is completely gorgeous, but it was fitted very strangely. It was really small in the bust and ribcage and large in the hips. I am not a busty person, I'm fairly straight up and down.
I was dissapointed about the fit, but if the fit is right for someone else the workmanship and the fabric are beautiful.

Absolutely Gorgeous!
When I made my appointment to go to the BHLDN Salon in Houston, I had not considered this gown. But, when I tried it on, I knew it was perfect. In person, the gown is much more stunning. It is light-weight, which is perfect for my summer/outdoor wedding. The color (ivory/buttercream) is perfect: I won't be wearing a stark-white dress that will 'wash out' the underlying yellow glow of my skin tone (I think this will help when I'm having pictures taken outdoors). The asymmetrical lines makes the gown unique and gives it a flowing/ethereal feel. The best part is that the design flatters my figure perfectly: I'm a short gal with bust and hips, so this really helps me define and highlight my figure. Also, the gown is one-shouldered so I won't have to worry about pulling the dress up as I'll be dancing and moving around all day. I can't describe how excited I am about this gown!! I keep imaging the look on my fiance's face when he sees me on the big day :)

Gorgeous gown
Just received my gown and it is beautifully constructed. The soft ivory color is very flattering to my fair skin and the feel of the silk is light and airy. I'm a curvy 5'1 and based on my measurements ordered a 6 (I'm usually a 4) and it fits true to size, especially around my hips. I'll have the bottom hemmed and the top brought in, but overall, the fit is exactly as described. Definitely a keeper!

The tan dress
This dress has one up side but a few down sides.i love the different layers and all of the fringe but I would like to see if it is available in white
.To wear this dress you have to have the perfect body.Last the thing that sticks out the most to me it looks poorly constructed.Usually I wouldn't be the one to say something like this because I love vintage but..."really?!
